In FRANCE, Jacques LeFevrier left nothing to chance when he decided to commit suicide. He stood at the top of a tall cliff and tied a noose around his neck. He tied the other end of the rope to a large rock. He drank some poison and set fire to his clothes. He even tried to shoot himself at the last moment. He jumped and fired the pistol.

The bullet missed him completely and cut through the rope above him. Free of the threat of hanging, he plunged into the sea. The sudden dunking extinguished the flames and made him vomit the poison. He was dragged out of the water by a kind fisherman and was taken to a hospital, where he died of hypothermia.

A father and son suspected of being white supremacists have pleaded not guilty to terrorism offences.

Former pub DJ Ian Davison, 41, and his son Nicky, 18, were arrested by anti-terror police in County Durham in June.

The father was remanded in custody by Newcastle Crown Court after denying preparing for acts of terrorism and producing a chemical weapon.

His son was released on bail after pleading not guilty to two counts of possessing terrorist training manuals.

Ian Davison, of Myrtle Grove, Burnopfield, is also accused of possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possessing electronic copies of The Anarchist Cookbook, The Kitchen Complete manual and the Mujahideen Explosives Handbook.

He was arrested in a raid on his home.

His son, of Grampian Way, Annfield Plain, is accused of possessing electronic copies of The Poor Man's James Bond manual and The Anarchist Cookbook.

A trial, which is expected to last up to four weeks, is set to to begin at Newcastle Crown Court on April 12.

Petrol prices are set to soar past 110p a litre - £5 a gallon - in the run-up to Christmas.
It will be the highest since September 2008 and a rise of 26 per cent since the start of this year.
Motorists will suffer further misery in the New Year when the Government imposes a planned 2.5 per cent increase in VAT.
Experts blame the continuing rise in forecourt prices on speculators, who are stockpiling massive amounts of oil.

The effects of the rises could spread throughout the economy. Families will be left with less to spend in the shops, and some may have to rethink plans to travel to see relatives and friends.
Shop prices themselves are often linked to the cost of petrol.
There was a blow for rail travellers, too, yesterday. Train companies announced New Year fare increases which unions said could mean rises of up to 15 per cent on most cheap day returns and long-distance open tickets.

The last time petrol prices were so high the price of a barrel of oil was $100. Yesterday it had fallen to just below $80.
Experts say tax rises and the falling value of sterling have helped fuel the price increases.

'With less money in their pockets this Christmas, they will spend less at the shops and businesses will suffer.' Motoring groups say the oil giants also have questions to answer. BP recently revealed bumper profits of more than £1billion a month - a 60 per cent rise on the £1.9billion profit it made between April and June.
The consumer website petrolprices.com has calculated that the cost of filling up an average family car with unleaded fuel will be £60.50 this December - £12.15 more than a year ago.
AA spokesman Luke Bosdet said: 'To the average driver, this is madness. Why are prices in an oil glut not falling rather than soaring to levels never seen before at this time of year?
'We've got massive surpluses of oil, but it is being stockpiled at near-record levels to keep the price up.
'It is speculators and spivs on the stock market as well as the Government who are keeping prices high. The oil companies are profiting from the high price, but the motorist is losing out.
'With less money in their pockets this Christmas, they will spend less at the shops and businesses will suffer.'

RAC spokesman John Franklin said: 'The festive season is traditionally a very expensive time and this has been made worse by petrol prices rising by around 26 per cent from last year.

'With the £5 a gallon mark expected to be hit before Christmas, many families are likely to think twice about visiting family and friends.'
Motoring groups have accused oil companies of being quick to raise prices when the cost of crude oil rises and slow to lower them when it falls.

Mr Franklin added: 'It's about time oil companies became more transparent with their pricing so that motorists can clearly understand why these price rises happen.
'Otherwise they will continue to feel like an easy target that keeps the profits flowing in.'

Petrolprices.com said last night that average petrol prices were currently at 108.6p a litre - with the highest price in the country 119.9p. Diesel was at an average 109.8p, with the highest 122.9p.
Prices reached their peak in July last year when a litre of petrol was 119.5p and a litre of diesel 133.1p.

The extent of the speculation in oil is beginning to alarm producer countries. The Arab-dominated OPEC oil cartel said last week that it will increase supply and thus reduce the price if the speculators do not relent.
Oil prices hit an all-time high of almost $150 per barrel in July 2008, plunged to $40 in December that year but then bounced sharply back up.
The oil price jumped $2 yesterday to $78.2 a barrel. The oil industry rule of thumb says that every $2 rise in the price of oil puts 1p on to the price of a litre of petrol - adding 50p to every fill up.

Today over 400 nationalists turned up in London to demonstrate against Islam4UK's march to 10 Downing Street. The nationalists were made up of autonomous nationalists, Blood and Honour, C18, Football casuals and various supporters who are also involved in other groups.

Last night, without our knowledge, Islam4UK cancelled their march through London and we were left with a technical victory today. As the day went on people started leaving/moving to other places in London. We heard that the EDL were down the road singing anti German songs and singing songs with messages basically saying that the people of Dresden deserved what they got in the Dresden bombings. About 15 of us that was left went down there and got ourselves and pint and had a conversation with some of the EDL. The youth were there, including their leader Joel, and the older lot were there too. Somehow, something kicked off about the EDL being pro zionists and supporting Jews, and we opposed it, we were all outside and they started chanting "C18 Nazis". We 15 ended up kicking off with about 50 - 60 EDL, who were throwing fire extinguishers, pint glasses, bottles, and various other things. We stood our ground to a point but had to disperse. After getting away through Trafalger Square we heard screams and looked around. One of our C18 brothers had been smashed around the back of the head and had fallen flat out on the road unconscious, drowning in a pool of blood. 10 minutes later coming back to the scene, he was still laying there and was cornered off with police tape.

If anyone continues to support EDL, you are supporting a group of so called patriots who has just (as far as we know) caused the death of one of our real patriotic brothers. By supporting them you are alo supporting mixed races and the mixing of races as well as supporting Zionism and the Jews that have got us in the mess we are in today. They hate nationalists, and that is clear now, they hate you.

I urge every nationalist to not turn up at their demos unless you are going there to oppose them. They were chanting things such as "F**k C18" and "F*****g Nazis", so you will not be welcome anyway. Make sure these scumbags are off of our streets as soon as possible, every demo they have, destroy it, and destroy them.

I have heard word that they may be coming to "trash" NF Remembrance Day, so let us all unite, like we did today, Autonomous groups, B&H, C18, Football firms, and destroy this scum at any possible chance.

A FANATICAL Muslim group campaigning to impose sharia law on Britain wants to turn Buckingham Palace into a mosque, it was revealed last night.

Days before a potentially incendiary rally in central London, the hardline Islam4UK group claims to have uncovered historical evidence which challenges the right of the Queen to live at the royal property.

Notorious hate preacher Anjem Choudary is calling for the palace to be renamed Buckingham Masjid, the Arabic word for mosque.

The Mall, which approaches the palace, would become Masjid Road.

Choudary, the right-hand man of exiled cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, spoke out as he urged Muslims across Britain to join Saturday’s rally to demand a complete overhaul of the British legal system and the introduction of sharia courts.

The protest is due to begin at 1pm outside the Houses of Parliament and end at Trafalgar Square, less than a mile from Buckingham Palace, raising concerns over security.

Last night angry politicians and fellow Muslims condemned Choudary’s comments.

Tory MP Philip Davies compared Choudary to the leader of the BNP, saying: “This man’s a complete idiot. He’s the Muslim equivalent to Nick Griffin. I’m all for free speech and people having the right to have their say but, equally, there are all these ridiculous laws the Government has introduced about inciting racial hatred. Quite clearly, that’s what he is doing.

“If these laws are in place, they have to work both ways – they can’t apply to just one group of people.”

In a rambling diatribe, Choudary wrote on the Islam4UK website: “There is a spark that has ignited and its flame has become unstoppable.

“In recent years the world has witnessed an Islamic resurgence which continues to grow in strength.

“We find ourselves in the year 2009, waiting for Rome to fall, waiting for the White House to fall and indeed waiting for Buckingham Palace to fall.”

Choudary said that under sharia law the Queen’s official residence in London would have a dome fitted and a tannoy system to call followers to prayer.

The Palace would be used as a judiciary court for handing down sharia punishments and a detention place for “prisoners of war”.

In addition, the building would become the headquarters of the Islamic States’ supreme leadership and the Department of Information and Culture.

Choudary also called for the Crown Jewels to be melted down into “more appealing jewellery, free from idolatrous engravings or symbols such as crosses or human beings”.

Islam4UK’s website shows mock-up images of the Palace as a mosque and the Crown Jewels being melted.

Choudary added: “At present, Buckingham Palace is nothing more than a hollow building exploited by the rich and withheld from any real use.

“Under the sharia this would never happen, rather the British community would see it converted into a flourishing mosque which would be of a great benefit, not only for those residing in London but also the country as a whole.”

The Islam4UK movement is made up of leading members of the banned radical al-Muhajiroun group which was once led by Choudary. Around 15 per cent of people convicted in the UK of terrorism-related offences in the last decade were either members of the group or had links to it.

The Centre for Social Cohesion last night warned of the dangers of Choudary’s preachings.

Houriya Ahmed, a researcher for the independent think-tank , said: “I think they are just doing this for publicity.

“Anjem Choudary is a ridiculous man. But that does not mean his ideology is not dangerous.”

Muslim leader Abdul Hamid Qureshi, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said: “The sad fact is that this organisation is driving the agenda. What they are saying is totally wrong. They are only a small bunch of people. There is no sense in it – it is not Islam.”

Anyone is capable of being a Lone Wolf. Resistance is a lifestyle, each performs to his or her individual abilities. Success and experience will come in time.

Always start off small. Many small victories are better than one huge blunder (which may be the end of your career as a Lone Wolf). Every little bit counts in a resistance.

Knowledge is power. Learn from your mistakes as well as the mistakes of others. Never rush into anything, time and planning are keys to success. Never attempt anything beyond your own abilities, failure could lead to disaster.

The less any outsider knows, the safer and more successful you will be. Keep your mouth shut and your ears open. Never truly admit to anything.

Communicate your message to others having the same beliefs as yours. Communication will add to your knowledge base. After all, having an opinion is still legal (I think). Communication is a good thing, but keep your covert activities a secret. This will protect you as well as others like you. When someone from a membership group taunts you by saying "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE AS A LONE WOLF? Simply say "that would be telling." DUHHHHH!!!!

Remember, even the smallest things make a difference. You will see that what you are doing is making an impact. If you never get caught, you are better than any army.

Others will notice your activities, but never try to take any credit for them, your success should be all the recognition you need.

Never keep any records of your activities that can connect you to the activity. Keep in mind that repeated activity in one area will lead to increased attention to the area and possibly to you. The more you change your tactics, the more effective you will become. Random chaos is never predictable.

Have a "rainy day" fund set aside in a safety deposit box (out of your local area and not in a high activity area), complete with new ID just in the event that something unexpected goes wrong.

Only you will know your limitations. Never utter more than the 5 Words to any agent or representative of ZOG: "I Have Nothing To Say." There are no exceptions. Anyone who does talk must be shunned from the movement forever. Former associates of the talker may consider much harsher punishment. Never talk to a Grand Jury even when faced with contempt of court. No exceptions.

Never join a membership group unless it is to monitor any threat to lone wolf operations: Support some activists and publications with periodic freewill donations covertly. You will be able to live without a membership card- also known as a security blanket.

No meetings (that includes rallies, conventions, concerts and rendezvous) that are not for a compelling, specific activist reason that cannot be accomplished through other communication means (mail, E-mail, Net, phone, etc.).

Exist and fight as lone wolves or in a small cell and you will last longer and be at peak performance.

I have never said their will never be a time when all small cells and lonewolves may evolve into a highly structure but ruthlessly militant organization with steel hard leaders. That time is not now and will not be for the foreseeable future. No present leader including myself will be leading that phase. We are only to prepare the way.

Hopefully what we say and do now will make future victory possible. Remember, those who have come before you are counting on you, those who will come after you are depending on you. Think white, act White, be White!

On April 8th, 2009, British police arrested 12 Pakistani Muslim terror suspects, and Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the police and intelligence services had thwarted a “very big terrorist plot”. British media, intelligence agencies, politicians and Gordon Brown spent next two weeks trying to convince British public of the terrible terrorist plot these Pakistani students were about to execute. The entire operation was quickly named Operation Pathway. Some of the headlines on the main pages of the leading British newspapers read:
•"Shops and nightclub were terror targets," Daily Express headline on 9 April
•"Al-Qaida terror plot to bomb Easter shoppers," Daily Telegraph on 10 April
•“Students of terror,” Daily Mail, 10 April 2009
•“Scramble to find the Easter bomb factory,” Times, 10 April 2009
British news channels were going hand in hand with the print media. The laudable BBC kept repeating, “We (Nick Ravenscroft, BBC correspondent) had been told by police sources that an attack could have taken place within days or weeks".

Within two weeks, all 12 suspects had been released from police custody. To date no terrorism charges or even criminal charges of any kind had been filed against any of them. Except for the British Pakistani students all were then imprisoned without any charges based on the allegation that they pose security threat to Britain. After a few months in British prison due to ill-treatment and with Ramadhan approaching, majority of the students accepted British offer to return to Pakistan – unable to defend their position of innocence in the court.

Al Qaida or Combat 18

In April 2008 while the British Media and British Politicians were making sure British public was concentrated on the al-Qaeda plot to blow up a shopping mall in England using an email about marriage the UK police arrested a cell of 32 members of the terrorist organization Combat 18 with 80 bombs, 300 weapons, rocket launchers, grenades, guns and detailed plans to blow up mosques throughout England. For some strange reason, none of the British newspapers ran this story on front page or for that matter many did not cover the operation at all. It seems as if a couple of emails are a lot more dangerous and deadly than couple of hundred bombs in Britain. Even after catching thirty-two terrorists of Combat 18, Norman Bettison, the chief constable of West Yorkshire made sure to comment, ““The big bad wolf is still the Al-Qaeda threat” and not White Wolves (one of the sub-sections of Combat 18). Norman Bettison also did not comment on how the Combat 18 cell acquired all this weaponry, majority of which is only accessible to military personnel in UK. Whatever the pretext and purpose of this terrorist operation be, it confirmed that the terrorist organization Combat 18 was still operational in UK, had access to military weapons and British media, politicians and intelligence agencies all were doing their best to hide its activities by creating a facade of al-Qaida threat.

Combat 18 – From Birth till Today – a Snapshot

Combat 18 or C18 was formed in late 1991 or early 1992 as a part of British National Party and Blood & Honour. Since coming on the centre stage in 1992 Combat 18 has produced numerous literature all advocating violence against non-whites, such as its infamous “The White Wolves” periodical which describes in detail why racist violence is important and how to encourage it.

Organizational Structure
Combat 18 works in a similar fashion to the so-called “al-Qaeda Terrorists”. They have autonomous cells and lone bombers who work independently and are given directions and resources at the start of their operation. Planning, details and execution all is left to the terrorist or the terrorist cell. As a result, majority of the times the cells have been successful in carrying out their operations. Combat 18 in UK also has formed a number of sub-sections which operate independently, carrying out their respective agendas, while keeping themselves within the umbrella of Combat 18.

White Wolves
The White Wolves is a sub-section of Combat 18 which was headed by David Myatt (now a Muslim convert and hard-line supporter of Osama bin Laden and Taliban). He was second in command of Combat 18 at the time. This section gets its name from “The White Wolves” periodical and aims to implement the agenda detailed in the periodical. The thirty-two members of the cell caught in April/May of 2009 in UK belonged to White Wolves section of Combat 18.

Racial Volunteer Force
The Racial Volunteer Force (RVF) is a violent sub-section of Combat 18 with majority of its members also belonging to the terrorist group, British Freedom Fighters. The RVF was formed in 2002 by Mark Atkinson and John Hill and operates independently of the Combat 18 Division UK. Majority of the members of RVF have got terrorist training including bomb making. John Hill proudly boasts that he was in South Africa during the early 1990s where he got his terrorist training and learned how to make bombs.

International Divisions
On international level Combat 18 operates under a sophisticated organization of divisions, each division representing a country. Most active of these divisions (other than Combat 18 Division UK) are Division Russia, Division Belgium, Division Germany and Division Australia.

Each member of Combat 18 is also a member of at least one or two other similar organizations, which makes their work a lot easier. As more and more restrictions are put on Combat 18 members, they tend to use their other memberships to identify themselves. In UK majority of the Combat 18 Division UK are members of British National Party and Blood & Honor. The Combat 18 Division Belgium are members of Bloed, Bodem, Eer en Trouw. The Combat 18 Division France are members of Bloc identitaire (previously Unité Radicale).

On 6 April 1999, members of Combat 18 cooperated with a documentary crew from the Granada Television's World in Action show in an effort to show that they had been infiltrated, and in some cases controlled indirectly, by the British intelligence services.

Similarly, Nicholas John Griffin famously known as Nick Griffin who is currently the chairman of British National Party and a Member of the European Parliament for North West England alleged in 1999 that “MI5 encouraged or even ordered the setting up of Combat 18” to pursue its agenda.

Combat 18’s Well-Known Terrorist Activities
London Nail Bomber
On April 23, 1999, a bomb exploded in Brixton and another a week later in Brick Lane, East London. On April 30, a third bomb at the Admiral Duncan pub in Soho killed three people, including a pregnant woman, and injured over 100 others. 22-year-old David Copeland a member of Combat 18 was arrested as the mastermind, who had carried out the nail bombing campaign aimed at non-white communities in London. Investigators concluded that he had acted alone.

2008-09
2008-09 has been an eventful year for Britain and Combat 18. There have been numerous arrests by British police along with explosive devices and detailed terrorism plans. Interestingly all of these arrests were not part of months long investigations, but started by simple offenses like public urination and assaulting women. It was after the arrests that police found out about their involvement in terrorism. A few of these are listed below:

•Neil Lewington was arrested for urinating at a railway platform after getting off a train. A search of his bag uncovered two incendiary devices and a bomber’s manual.
•Nicky Davison, an eighteen year old teenager was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred, however, on searching his house the police found deadly poison ricin in a jam jar. Police now believe that Nicky and his father Ian Davison wanted to use ricin in a terrorist poisoning plot. A jam jar of this poison is enough to kill tens of thousands of people. •Police arrested a man for assaulting a woman in a street after getting drunk. On searching his premises detectives seized maps and plans of mosques. This led to the discovery of a Combat 18 cell planning to blow up mosques in England. Arrests were made and plans thwarted. Police haven’t given any names or further details about the cell.

This kind of highly confidential document – pictured above – is rarely seen by the public.

These so-called "spotter cards" are issued by police to identify individuals they consider to be potential troublemakers because they have appeared at a number of demonstrations.

The photographs are drawn from police intelligence files. This card was apparently dropped at a demonstration against Britain's largest arms fair in 2005.

H is Mark Thomas, the comedian and political activist. Asked why it was justifiable to put Thomas, who has no criminal record, on this card, the Metropolitan police replied: "We do not discuss intelligence we may hold in relation to individuals."

Thomas had been acquitted of criminal damage after attaching himself to a bus containing arms traders at a previous fair.

The Met said: "This is an appropriate tactic used by police to help them identify people at specific events … who may instigate offences or disorder."

The arms fair "is a biannual event that is specifically targeted by known protest groups, who in the past have stated their intention was to shut down or disrupt the event." As the cards are "strictly controlled", the officers who lost it were "dealt with".

On Comment is Free today Thomas writes: "Protesters – or, as the police call them, 'domestic extremists' – are the new 'reds under the bed'."

Police in £9m scheme to log 'domestic extremists'

Thousands of activists monitored on network of overlapping databases

Detailed information about the political activities of campaigners is being stored on IT systems.

Police are gathering the personal details of thousands of activists who attend political meetings and protests, and storing their data on a network of nationwide intelligence databases.

The hidden apparatus has been constructed to monitor "domestic extremists", the Guardian can reveal in the first of a three-day series into the policing of protests. Detailed information about the political activities of campaigners is being stored on a number of overlapping IT systems, even if they have not committed a crime.

Senior officers say domestic extremism, a term coined by police that has no legal basis, can include activists suspected of minor public order offences such as peaceful direct action and civil disobedience.

Three national police units responsible for combating domestic extremism are run by the "terrorism and allied matters" committee of the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo). In total, it receives £9m in public funding, from police forces and the Home Office, and employs a staff of 100.

An investigation by the Guardian can reveal:

• The main unit, the National Public Order Intelligence Unit (NPOIU), runs a central database which lists thousands of so-called domestic extremists. It filters intelligence supplied by police forces across England and Wales, which routinely deploy surveillance teams at protests, rallies and public meetings. The NPOIU contains detailed files on individual protesters who are searchable by name.

• Vehicles associated with protesters are being tracked via a nationwide system of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras. One man, who has no criminal record, was stopped more than 25 times in less than three years after a "protest" marker was placed against his car after he attended a small protest against duck and pheasant shooting. ANPR "interceptor teams" are being deployed on roads leading to protests to monitor attendance.

• Police surveillance units, known as Forward Intelligence Teams (FIT) and Evidence Gatherers, record footage and take photographs of campaigners as they enter and leave openly advertised public meetings. These images are entered on force-wide databases so that police can chronicle the campaigners' political activities. The information is added to the central NPOIU.

• Surveillance officers are provided with "spotter cards" used to identify the faces of target individuals who police believe are at risk of becoming involved in domestic extremism. Targets include high-profile activists regularly seen taking part in protests. One spotter card, produced by the Met to monitor campaigners against an arms fair, includes a mugshot of the comedian Mark Thomas.

• NPOIU works in tandem with two other little-known Acpo branches, the National Extremism Tactical Coordination Unit (Netcu), which advises thousands of companies on how to manage political campaigns, and the National Domestic Extremism Team, which pools intelligence gathered by investigations into protesters across the country.

Denis O'Connor, the chief inspector of constabulary, will next month release the findings of his national review of policing of protests. He has already signalled he anticipates wide scale change. His inspectors, who were asked to review tactics in the wake of the Metropolitan police's controversial handling of the G20 protests, are considering a complete overhaul of the three Acpo units, which they have been told lack statutory accountability.

Acpo's national infrastructure for dealing with domestic extremism was set up with the backing of the Home Office in an attempt to combat animal rights activists who were committing serious crimes. Senior officers concede the criminal activity associated with these groups has receded, but the units dealing with domestic extremism have expanded their remit to incorporate campaign groups across the political spectrum, including anti-war and environmental groups that have only ever engaged in peaceful direct action.

All three units divide their work into four categories of domestic extremism: animal rights campaigns; far-right groups such as the English Defence League; "extreme leftwing" protest groups, including anti-war campaigners; and "environmental extremism" such as Climate Camp and Plane Stupid campaigns.

Anton Setchell, who is in overall command of Acpo's domestic extremism remit, said people who find themselves on the databases "should not worry at all". But he refused to disclose how many names were on the NPOIU's national database, claiming it was "not easy" to count. He estimated they had files on thousands of people. As well as photographs, he said FIT surveillance officers noted down what he claimed was harmless information about people's attendance at demonstrations and this information was fed into the national database.

He said he could understand that peaceful activists objected to being monitored at open meetings when they had done nothing wrong. "What I would say where the police are doing that there would need to be the proper justifications," he said.

Legal Advice: Section 60
In the Past,riot police cordoned off the demonstration, corralling large numbers of people into an increasing confined area before taking their names, addresses and photographs, eventually releasing them one by one. This was done under the obscure Section 60 of the Criminal Justice & Public Order Act 1994 (originally designed to prevent minor football disturbances).

The S60 order is a new police tactic at major demonstrations used effectively to control, subdue and gain personal information about protesters despite having the extraordinarily limited power simply to "Stop and search in anticipation of violence".

Its effectiveness in the past was due to the fact that no-one knew just exactly what powers the police had under S60. As it turns out, they have very few powers.

In the event of an S60 order being issued;these are the important things to remember: The police have the power to search you for weapons (and dangerous instruments). They have no other powers under S60. They can only detain you "for as long as necessary to carry out a search".

They have no legal power to force you to give them your name and address. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES give it to them: it will be kept on file for SEVEN years. When asked, say "NO COMMENT".

They have no legal power to force you to have your photograph taken. Do not allow them to do this. This too will be kept on file for SEVEN years. Keep your head turned away, or put your hand in front of your face.

They have no legal power to ask you to remove any item of clothing in public view, OTHER THAN that which is concealing your identity. Any facial masking can be confiscated.

If you are asked to remove coats/jumpers etc, REFUSE OUTRIGHT. They have no legal power to search wallets, purses, inside small pockets etc. This is an S60 search, for weapons only. If they ask to search wallets, purses, inside small pockets etc, REFUSE OUTRIGHT.

If you have a bag they will search that, but again for weapons only. Any other items, documents, potentially incriminating articles are OFF LIMITS.

Do not allow them to examine any of your personal possessions (cash cards, student cards, diaries, organisers etc). This is not part of S60. Under Article 8 of the UK Human Rights Act 1998 your privacy is assured. Make sure they know this. They can only confiscate weapons and facial masking.

They have the power to use "reasonable force" but ONLY if you do not submit to a search. No other force can be used for any other purpose.

They must tell you their name, number, station they're based at the reason for the search. Ask them for this. Not only will it piss them, off but if they don't provide this information the search will be illegal. Remember: in an S60 situation, you are accused of nothing and you have done nothing wrong. DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, however insignificant or polite. SAY "NO COMMENT" to everything.

Most of all, DON'T BE SCARED BY THEM! They know the law, and now so do you. USE IT!

Update:
Legal Advice: Section 60

Contrary to information being circulated, the legal basis of the tactic of police cordoning off demonstrations and forbidding large numbers of people to leave from inside the cordon; is NOT s60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.

Police, indeed anyone, can use reasonable force to detain people to prevent a breach of the peace where they fear one is imminent. This was the basis of the effective mass imprisonment at previous demonstrations. It is not an arrest.

The powers in s60 have been used to search people individually as they are being released from the cordon and this is where the confusion stems from.

S60 can be used where a senior cop reasonably suspects there will be incidents of serious violence _or_ that people are carrying dangerous weapons or offensive weapons in a locality (inserted by s8 Knives Act 1997).

1. Once police have released you from the cordoned area, they can _then_ only detain you "for as long as necessary to carry out a search". While in the cordoned area they can detain you as long as they have reasonable (i.e. objectively justifiable) grounds that this is necessary to prevent a breach of the peace.

4. While performing a search they _can_ ask you to remove outer clothing, such as coats and jumpers in public. In addition, s60(4A) - inserted by s25 CDA 1998 - allows the police to force you to remove anything they reasonably suspect you are wearing wholly or mainly to conceal your identity. There is nothing to stop you putting something else on after you have taken off a mask or had it confiscated.

5. The s60 search is for "offensive weapons or dangerous instruments". This is not limited to large things such as samurai swords and stun guns (taking examples from certain Sunday papers) but can include razor blades. They _can_ search inside wallets, purses, small pockets for these.

6. They _can_ search personal possessions for dangerous instruments that might be hidded inside and they can also seize prohibited articles such as drugs *. While it is true that Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) contains a qualified right of respect for your private life, and that under s6 of the Human Rights Act 1998 public authorities such as the police will be acting unlawfully if they breach any right in the ECHR, it is wrong to see this as doing something as absolute as assuring your privacy.

Before police start searching through personal possessions, e.g. address books, cards in wallet, warn them politely that if they do start trying to read what's in your address book or on the cards in your wallet rather than performing a cursory search, i.e. seeing if razor blades fall out onto the ground from your address book, they will be acting outside their powers and you will stop them.

8. Before conducting the search, an officer must take reasonable steps to communicate their name, number, station, etc. They also have to provide you with a written record of the search, which you should ask for. If they can't provide one straight away they must tell you which police station you can get it from. Police dislike form filling and paperwork particularly when it leaves less time to bash anti-capitalists and then fit them up.

9. Under the Data Protection Act, anyone holding personal data relating to other people (this includes video and photographic footage) has to provide copies to those people for £10, as demonstrated by Mark Thomas on C4. If substantial numbers of people on a demonstration exercise this right, the police will have to spend their resources on finding footage with those individuals on, in order to collate it and send it to them, rather than gathering intelligence and preparing for arrests.

* Anyone arrested for possession of cannabis should be aware that there is a test case going through the courts on the compatability of cannabis proibition with the Human Rights Act - you should seek advice from Liberty before accepting a caution or pleading guilty.

'Human Rights'

Only a few rights are absolute, such as the right not to be tortured. British courts have been quite stingy in interpreting rights, and the European Court tends to have a hands off approach where there are issues of public disorder.

It's dangerous to start saying human rights give you the rights to do this and that as the rights have to be interpreted in their context. In particular UK courts and even the European Court have been very hands-off and deferential to the police when judging the legality of supposed breaches of the peace.

While this has only been used so far to ban 21 groups, there are enough powers in this law to create a full-on police state. While journalists and anyone connected to those groups in particular should take legal advice, anyone at the Mayday demonstration could be arrested under the Terrorism Act even if they have not committed an offence. Manchester October 10th

Well The Plan was UAF Demo [Unofficial] 12 Noon, With the EDL Approved Demo at 5pm;
For reasons unknown Both started around 12 noon.
Heavy handed tactics by the police started right from the word go, Coaches were refused entry into Manc, every person who remotly looked like a EDL supported was stopped,searched and asked personel details, section 60s were handed out like sweets;
I Noted that NO uaf or antifa were treated in this way.
On meeting up with a large group of EDL we were hearded like cattle around the back streets untill we arrived at Piccadilly Gardens, there we were held in the middle of the park area for hours. No Water,No Food no toilet facilitys.
With this illegal and disgusting treatment by the police what the hell did they expect to happen; It kicked off, A number of chargies were made towards the police riot squad, sadley we could not make a break through.
After almost 4 hours some other EDL supporters and Leaders were allowed in, to give there speeches and hold the 2 minit silence for our troops.
uaf and the reds chanted there same sick slogans over and over again, poor misguided
sub humans that they are.
On trying to leave the police again tryed to search photo and question everyone leaving; Some one yelled PUSH and we all did, barriers gave way, filth went flying;
It speeded up our exit.
we were lead on the biggest most roundabout way back to Victoria station, with it kicking off all the way; We got waves and cheers from many members of the public,
who did not take part in the demo but gave us there full support.
Overall a good day, we have made our mark, and people are starting to take notice of the Islamic threat to this Country.

Christian hotel owners hauled before court after defending their beliefs in discussion with Muslim guest

A Christian couple have been charged with a criminal offence after taking part in what they regarded as a reasonable discussion about religion with guests at their hotel.
Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang were arrested after a Muslim woman complained to police that she had been offended by their comments.
They have been charged under public order laws with using ‘threatening, abusive or insulting words’ that were ‘religiously aggravated’.

The couple, whose trial has been set for December, face a fine of up to £5,000 and a criminal record if they are convicted.
Although the facts are disputed, it is thought that during the conversation the couple were challenged over their Christian beliefs.
It is understood that they suggested that Mohammed, the founder of Islam, was a warlord and that traditional Muslim dress for women was a form of bondage.

They deny, however, that their comments were threatening and argue that they had every right to defend and explain their beliefs.

Mrs Vogelenzang, 54, who has run the Bounty House Hotel near Aintree racecourse in Liverpool with her husband Ben, 53, for six years, said: ‘Nothing like this has happened to us before. We are completely shocked.’

She added that the episode had damaged their business and they had been forced to lay off staff and run the nine-bedroom hotel by themselves, leaving them exhausted.
Sources said that a number of guests staying at the hotel, which charges £92 a night for a double room, were having breakfast in its restaurant on March 20 when comments were made about religion.
One of those involved was the Muslim woman, who was staying at the hotel while she received treatment at a hospital nearby.
The couple, who are members of the Bootle Christian Fellowship, and their solicitor, David Whiting, said they could not discuss the content of the conversation for legal reasons. But the independent lobby group, the Christian Institute, which has seen both the prosecution and defence legal papers, is supporting their defence.
Mr Whiting, who last year successfully defended street preacher Anthony Rollins in Birmingham, said: ‘There is a dispute as to the facts of the allegations, but Ben and Sharon do not accept they were threatening, abusive or insulting.
‘They are committed Christians and it is the defence’s contention that they have every right to defend their religious beliefs and explain those beliefs to others who do not hold similar views.’
After the incident, the couple voluntarily attended St Anne’s Street police station in Liverpool, where they were interviewed under caution.

In July they were arrested and charged under Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 and Section 31 (1) (c) and (5) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

They appeared briefly at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday to hear the date of their trial before magistrates, and were granted bail on the condition that they did not approach any of the witnesses expected to appear.
The use by the police of the Public Order Act to arrest people over offensive comments has dismayed a number of lawyers, who say the legislation was passed to deal with law and order problems in the streets.

Neil Addison, a prominent criminal barrister and expert in religious law, said: ‘The purpose of the Public Order Act is to prevent disorder, but I’m very concerned that the police are using it merely because someone is offended.

‘It should be used where there is violence, yobbish behaviour or gratuitous personal abuse. It should never be used where there has been a personal conversation or debate with views firmly expressed.

‘If someone is in a discussion and they don’t like what they are hearing, they can walk away.’
He added that the police had a legal duty under the Human Rights Act to defend free speech ‘and I think they are forgetting that’.
A number of Church leaders in Liverpool have written to Keir Starmer, the Director of Public Prosecutions, voicing their concerns and pressing for the case to be dropped.
Christian Institute spokesman Mike Judge said ‘important’ issues of religious liberty were at stake.

‘In recent years, we have backed several cases where Christians have suffered unfair treatment because of their faith,’ he said. ‘We have detected a worrying tendency for public bodies to misapply the law in a way that seems to sideline Christianity more than other faiths.’
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: ‘It would be inappropriate to comment as this is an ongoing case.’

History of Skins (Skins and Gear Info)

Skinhead culture emerged by 1969 in Britain out of the styles of white mod and black Jamaican rude boy gangs and as a reaction against hippy values. It was a world of scooter rallies, ska and skinhead reggae, and football matches where there was more action among the spectators than on the field. Some did target South Asians and gays for violence, though apparently not to any greater degree than other kids of the time.
A second wave of skinheads in the late seventies and early eighties came out of the punk scene, although ska retained its skinhead fans. A second wave of ska mixed ska rhythms with punk organization of the scene and yielded such bands as Madness, Selecter, and The Specials. Street punk bands with a skinhead following were labelled Oi by a music writer Gary Bushell, from a Cockney exclamation abundantly used in the songs of the Cockney Rejects, one of the first and best of the bands. According to the record sleeves, oi was a working class reaction against the art students who had overrun the punk scene. Some of the other oi! bands of the time were The Oppressed, The Business, Sham69, Cock Sparrer, Blitz, Last Resort, Condemned84 and Combat84.

Skins were a part of the punk scene in the US at least by the mid-80s. American skin culture came into its own and developed distinct styles around such New York Hardcore (NYHC) bands as Warzone and Agnostic Front, American Oi! bands like Anti-Heros, Iron Cross, Stormwatch, Templars, Dropkick Murphys, Niblick Henbane, and Patriot, and third wave ska catalyzed by MoonSka records in NYC such as Toasters, Pietasters. The Skoidats and Inspecter7 crossed the two.

The association of skins with The right wing that shapes how skins are talked about in tabloids and talk shows may be a little exaggerated but has some historical basis: the British Right Wing parties recruited aggressively among football hooligans - many of whom were skins - with the help of one of the most popular and charismatic oi bands, Skrewdriver. White nationalist groups, particularly White Aryan Resistance, tried the same in the US, and did have some success in recruiting among North American skinheads, and many of their followers shaved their heads in imitation of skinhead style.

Some Left wing fought back against the far right. In the late 80s and early 90s, SHARP (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) and then redskin crews such as RASH (Red and Anarchist Skin Heads) formed which fought off the Nazis, and claimed a distinction between 'traditional skinheads' who were non racist (though no less homophobic than other youth),True "Right Wing" Skinheads
The violence among skinhead factions - some political and some just gangs chasing the adrenalin rush - resulted in clubs refusing to book skinhead bands, so the settings where skinhead culture could be enacted became sparse. But the image of the skinhead has captured the public imagination, and talk shows are especially eager to put them on display. They have not shown as much interest in the Left Wing skins.
Nothing can be assumed of any skinhead's politics although the patches on his flight might give some big clues. Contrary to common belief, lace colors do not mean anything in most areas.

Forget everything you have ever heard about skinheads. Skins know who we are and recognize each other, but there is not much agreement as to what exactly separates skin from nonskin. For a lot of us, beer and brotherhood, oi, defending the working class, and standing by your mates are a big part of it. Well, you can't automatically assume a taste for large quantities of beer: there is a growing number of straight-edge skins who avoid alcohol, tobacco and drugs. For most of us, racial politics are NOT a part of it, and not all of us think you have to be straight to be skin.

Pride and patriotism
A Skinhead's "trademark" is his boots, signifying militancy and uniformity. Some have even referred to Skinheads as an "Army," defending the nation when authorities and officials fail to do the job. White laces, emblematic of the white race, are usually worn, although sometimes red laces are used, to indicate having engaged in combat against the nation's foes or to show solidarity with those who have shed blood in the cause. Skinhead boots are a source of enormous pride and, even, defiance. They symbolize the patriotic, even cocky, temperament born from "boot parties" against Pakis in Britain back in the Seventies. Particularly, boots give Skinheads a unique sense of unity, as they stand as tough as any soldiers and defend as vigilantly as any militiamen. Boots have displayed such a "menacing" look that aliens have been known to flee back across the border, homosexuals slip back into their closets and Negroes fall back in their place upon sight.

Skinhead boots are usually made in London. They are generally steel-toe and high-top, with ten, fourteen or, even, twenty eyes. There is nothing sedentary or sissified about them or the Skinheads who wear them. Some Skinheads report that they feel as thought they are a "one-man army" when they don their boots and show their pride. And, when they are with their friends, they become a whole Skinhead Army, which adds a dynamic to the social-reform scene which neither subversives nor degenerates feel too comforted by. The kind of "military bearing" attached to boots fits in with youth and working men bent upon defending homes, shops and streets against criminals and invaders. In fact, Skinheads relate that since "feminists," minorities, homosexuals and aliens have been shoved in, it has reached the point that a policeman takes his own life in the United States every twenty-two minutes. And those who try to do their job are either brought up on charges of "discrimination" or "profiling" or just back off, entirely. Hence, Skinheads see their own presence and activism as vital to the survival of not only their nation, but their blood and people.

BOOTS

Can be anywhere from 8 to 20 hole. Doctor Martens are by far the most popular skinhead boots around, while Rangers are gaining popularity amongst the gay skin set. Docs come in every colour and pattern you can think of, but skinheads tend to stick with oxblood or black. GET STEELCAPS! Not only do they look best, but you never know when you may need 'em! KEEP THEM POLISHED! Alternate between black and cherry for oxblood. Lace colours can be a big statement, different colours have different meanings around the globe. White was universally known as WHITE POWER
(losing it's meaning?), they look smart, but if your gonna wear 'em, make sure you can back yourself up! (this is where steelcaps come in handy). Choose a colour that you feel comfortable with.

BRACES

1/4 inch are the most popular but hardest to come by, especially in Britain. Red, white and black are the colours to wear. Also come in check patterns. If your gonna wear them around your bum, PLEASE make sure they don't drag along the floor!

SHIRTS

Unless you live in London, finding a decent Fred Perry can be quite a task. Freds come in a variety of colours and styles. Solids, stipes around the collar and arms, and even loud stripe patterns! Fred Perrys have been around for ages, my grandad used to wear them. (diamond geezer my grandad!)
BEN SHERMANS
Unfortunately, the days of tasteful Bens are far behind us. Rumoured to have been bought out by RALPH LAUREN (gasp), Ben Shermans now cater more to the polo geezer/Oasis crowd than to skins. Now available in a wide array of bright colours and loud patterns, with the logo (in day-glo) on the pocket. Well made and built to last!

Every skinhead has at least one Lonsdale t-shirt, get one! Band shirts are fine as well (just make sure you REALLY like 'em!)

Wear whatever team it is you support, VERY SEXY! Even if you hate footie!

JEANS

Wranglers, and, Lee. Faded or with a bit of bleach. Be careful! Bleaching jeans is a one time only process, start out with a little until you like what you see, too much bleach will weaken the fabric and cause holes (and that's not really skinhead now is it?)

Flight, bomber, or MA1 whatever you want to call it, it's the most popular skinhead coat there is. You can shop Camden market for a cheap imitation (zip on right), but be smart and invest in an original American one (zip on left)! Excellent for cold weather. Horrible for shows, clubs, and backrooms!

Is far-right extremism a threat?
Britain's security services have focused on Islamic extremism since the late 1990s but as BBC File on 4's Allan Urry discovered there are now concerns some resources should be devoted to the growing threat of far-right terror plots.

When two attackers firebombed the Islamic Centre, a mosque in the heart of Luton's Bury Park area in May, they created a siege mentality for local Muslims, according to mosque official Farasat Latif.

"We are on edge as a community; everyone is expecting another attack," he told File on 4.

Tensions have been high in Luton since Al Muhajiroun, a group banned at the firebombed mosque, organised a demonstration in March against the war in Afghanistan as the Royal Anglian Regiment marched through the town after a tour of duty.

This in turn sparked a counter-demonstration by a group called the United Peoples of Luton.

Racial tensions

This group became the English Defence League (EDL), whose protests against Islamic extremists around England have led to claims that it attracts far-right extremists hoping to foment racial tensions and encourage further protests, which the group denies.

The Islamic Centre received hate mail after the March protest, but there are fears the firebombing was more sinister - a premeditated attack rather than a hot-headed reaction to the controversial demonstration.

"Police told us that the getaway car was stolen nine months before the incident and had been kept off the road for a good eight to nine months," said Mr Latif.

"Maybe the next attack could be an incendiary device left in the mosque, because people come with bags and we have many nationalities, so an English person wouldn't stand out."

He said mosque officials have been considering whether people should be searched before they enter, which could be a wise precaution in the current climate.

Earlier this month Neil Lewington, 44, a white supremacist from Reading, was jailed for being found in possession of explosives as he was about to board a train.

Lewington, a fascist loner who hated Asians, regularly visited two white supremacist websites - Combat 18, a British neo-Nazi group, and a website for the Ku Klux Klan.

According to Dr Matthew Feldman, an expert in far-right extremism who gave evidence at Lewington's trial, the authorities were fortunate to arrest him before he took any drastic action.

"I have every reason to believe this person has posed a very serious threat to public order in this country," he told File on 4.

Lewington, however was only arrested by chance, after being found drunk at a railway station.

Another lone far-right extremist, Martyn Gilleard, who was found to have four home-made nail bombs when police raided his flat, was also arrested by chance as part of an investigation into child pornography.

Like others described as "lone wolves", he visited extremist websites and web forums that provided information about how to make bombs.

Edmund Standing, author of The BNP and The Online Fascist Network, said: "The fact that a lot of people [who use these websites] may be fantasists and do not pose a direct threat, doesn't mean these forums and websites don't, because for every 20 of them there could be one person who is actually twisted enough do something like this.

"These kind of groups and these kind of forums create an atmosphere in which it is seen to be more and more acceptable to express these hateful views."

'Lone radicals'

He said the websites advocated "lone wolf tactics" where anonymous individuals turned up at meetings and carried out subversive and violent actions.

"We face a far more difficult task dealing with these individuals, lone extremists who go to these groups or hang around the edges of these groups and become radicalised," added Mr Standing.

In fact, the threat posed by lone extremists was recently flagged up by a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), while a senior member of the Metropolitan Police has voiced concerns about the possibility of a major terror attack by right wing extremists.

In April 2007 the government began its Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) action plan to work with Muslim communities to "isolate, prevent and defeat violent extremism".

Bomb-making tips are available on some far right websites
There are suggestions the government is planning to widen the scope of PVE to cover far right extremists as well, but no minister would be interviewed by File on 4.

But a statement from the Department of Communities and Local Government said: "Government is working to address all forms of extremism, including violent far right groups. Over the coming months, we will be implementing a more comprehensive strategy to strengthen resilience to such extremism."

Dr Feldman thinks the move would be a timely intervention: "I can't recommend enough the work that the police are doing in terms of a preventive agenda and I'm sure it's going to move into considering these very overtly racist and far-right websites that are clearly inciting violence and racial hatred."

He said most security service resources had been devoted to Islamic extremism since the late 1990s and the attacks of 7 July 2005.

But he added: "I think the appreciation now is that doesn't mean the far right has gone away... some of the treatment and attention to these issues has in fact galvanised a white British nationalist in terms of acting where before they would have stayed at home grumbling."
